I find I’m spending more and more time in Discourse forums.
I also spend a lot of time segmenting others’ posts during editing in order to surround shorter sections with [quote]/[/quote]
.
Is there a tool, plugin or add-on etc to make this quicker and easier, please?

I have always highlighted the whole message and then split it up manually - adding the quote directives.
What I think you’re suggesting - thanks! - is to go through and pre-select only those paragraphs which I’d want to reply to and interleave my responses, isn’t it?
I’d never thought of that .

Yes, exactly. My personal workflow is to select each, add a reply below, and then select the next one.
In the case you need to quote a whole post, you can use the full quote button in the composer too. It’s the first one on the composer toolbar
