What happened to the "quote whole post" button?

What happened to the “quote whole post” button ?
It suddenly disappeared.
Most annoying.

It is pretty redundant as it clutters the Topic significantly with duplication, and there are other (tidier) tools baked in for that functionality.

Personally, I’m glad to see it gone!

But that quote method doesn’t include all embedded codes…
For example, this link –
If you highlight this post and select “Quote”, you will get the emoji
but not the associated link.
Is there another way of getting that ?

Well that’s odd. If i use that same example on another discourse
site and highlight it and select “quote”, i just get

So i can see why you might not need the “quote whole post” button
here, but could you explain the discrepancy ?

I can’t explain anything. Because for me it has worked that way all the time for me. Will this happen on safe-mode? Browser issue?

For example, this link –
If you highlight this post and select “Quote”, you will get the emoji
but not the associated link.

If you select the emoji, and only the emoji, the quote will strip out the link, which is indeed not expected.
If you select any additional character, even the empty space before, the link will be selected along with the emoji.

However, this issue has nothing to do with the full quote button, so I advise creating a Bug topic for this, but I’m not sure resources will be allocated to fix such an edge case, or with a pr-welcome maybe.

I’m not so sure about that bug.
