This post reminded me that I should give you a heads-up. We’ve also moved back to using Disqus for commenting on sitepoint.com articles.
We’d still love to use Discourse to power our comments, and tie the community together, if support for inline commenting happens down the line. We noticed a dramatic decrease in engagement with our posts after switching to forum-powered comments, with members of our forums engaging quite a bit, but more casual readers not joining in the conversation as they used to.
If there are plans to develop the WordPress plugin, could you let us know?
