Is it possible as a mod to anonymize and then re-name a user?
I want an account elsewhere anonymized and have been asking for years. Because of my contributions it is being refused. I’m looking for options here. Thanks.

Yes an anonymized user can be renamed. I have used this to restore a user who was “mistakenly” anonymized by a knee jerk reaction from a mod. I renamed them back to their original name and reattached email to account & reactivated.
In your case just need to anonymize & rename to something appropriate. Even anonymizing does not alone mess up the conversation flow as each anonymized account has a unique identifier
