We have version 2.4.1 installed for an internal only purpose. I’m part of staff. Not able to assign topics to some users. Are there still restrictions on who can a topic be assigned to?
Are those users members of a group which has been specified as eligible for assign? Non-staff users need to be in a group, and that group needs to appear in assign allowed on groups
.
I had multiple groups in that setting (assign allowed on groups). Including everyone and bunch of others.
It seems the user has to be at a certain trust level or some other requirement in addition to the assign allowed on groups. I tried again and I am now able to assign to the same user who I was not able to assign to earlier. Only thing changed is I bumped that user from TL1 to TL4.
TL4 definitely isn’t required. I can’t speak to TL1 as everyone we have using assign is at least TL2.
Small bug (I think) with this feature: I noticed that @everyone
is an option in the selector, but it doesn’t seem to have any effect.
Not sure what the desired fix is:
- Exclude
@everyone
from the options to choose from in the selector or - Make it work so that
@everyone
can assign things when@everyone
is chosen…
Trust level 0 should work though? We should certainly make everyone unselectable in the site setting, the everyone group is a bit weird
Pretty sure we are pretty done with this feature we offer full group based flexibility around who can participate in assignments.
