Best practices to manage events inside a category

Hi,

I am starting a community focused on urban tech at https://urbantech-forum.cornelltech.io .
One category I have created is for events.
I want to make it easy for people to find events that are relevant to them, based on location.

My current idea is to use tags to let people tag an event with its location.
This is not ideal because you need to have a parent tag and then the location tag, and you also need to manage all the location tags.

Are there better options to achieve a good user experience?

Can you elaborate? What is the parent tag for?

I want to restrict the location to events.
I created a tag group and this requires to have a parent tag and have the parent tag present, according to Tags: category restrictions, tag groups, relationships.

Am I missing something?

I think it works differently. I think those are two concepts, both with their own uses. You just want the tag group. No need to create parent relationships. :slight_smile:
