I added this poll to my instance, but the question doesn’t appear. How can I create a poll that looks more intuitive to users?
People had voted but it displayed zero voters.
You must write the question outside the poll:
What is your favorite animal?
- cat
- dog
- capybara
Are you on the very latest version of Discourse?
There were bugs on polls that have already been fixed some time ago.
oh ok maybe the issue was just when it was pinned the banner
Yep, for reference:
Polls don’t support being pinned in a banner at the moment.
It would be very handy if they did!
There’s the GitHub - discourse/discourse-poll-banner: Display a poll from a topic as a banner for all logged-in users. theme component that works off a numerical poll. I don’t know if someone could adapt it to handle ‘word-based’ ones in some way?
There does seem to be a scattering of topics about having polls in banners, but I think a lot of them were initially bug reports that have been reclassified rather than a proper feature request. It may be good to try and collate something to give it a better hearing and allow people to add their voice to the conversation.
