Can I install discourse on my local machine

  1. I want to install discourse on my local machine so that I can experiment with features. Is there any documented instruction.

  2. What is the cheapest option for hosting it currently. Digital ocean provides a $10 per month option. Anything cheaper than this ?

I am starting few forums and can’t afford $50/60 per month for this hobby project.

Also you can try this. Its offering is around 5USD but with better config than DO.
