I am using DigitalOcean’s DNS services

So I used a subdomain instead which… worked. Can I just use just the domain?

You can. If you’re having trouble then it’s a dns issue. Perhaps you have another A record for the root domain or something like that.

The SOA register to nlrp.xyz points to ns1.digitalocean.com.

So your DNS server is in digital ocean.

But the address is not what you are saying (159.203.78.37)

nrlp.xyz resolves to 158.69.62.86 (an OVH SAS address).
www.nlrxp.xyz resolves to same address.

So may be you are not using the correct address in the configuration or you are configuren a private IP in your server instead of your public IP address.

159.203.78.37 address has no dns record associated with it.

Hello,

I was using different providers to see if anything different happened. Right now I am using my Registrar as my DNS provider (Namecheap)

I am stuck in a unique situation it feels like because I set the VPS to another domain which worked but the other (nlrp.xyz) doesn’t

I hope it was resolved.

Funny enough there is a https protocol in FF. Probably because of an old website - in that case, DNS propagation - which would have resolved by now. If not, check if the SSL is installed correctly and/or how configuration/firewall in the server to handle ssl connection.
