Not sure if this is a bug or I somehow screwed something up by messing with the settings.
Basically, the descriptions of my categories don’t show up on the drop down menu. If you hover over them you can see the description though.

The category descriptions only appear in that dropdown for new users (Trust Level 0). I believe the rationale was that the descriptions take up a lot of space there and don’t provide much value once you’re somewhat familiar with the site.
The descriptions do always appear in the new topic composer’s dropdown though, as that info might be helpful when you’re deciding how to categorize a new topic.

Oh I see! I actually think it would look better if it was there all the time but I see the rationale in making it that way. Thanks for the explanation
