Change number of characters in a pinned topic excerpt

Is there a way to change the amount of text that is displayed on a pinned topic? It looks to me like that the excerpt length is hard coded.

So maybe this is a feature request to be able to change it.

This is not configurable we would need a site setting or some ninja html element added for that.

I am no html ninja.

Is this PR welcome or is my user the only one who wants this?

In 10 minutes, Iā€™m not quite sure where this gets set. Is it on the Rails side or on the front end?

I am not sure, there is only 1 request to date for this, up to @codinghorror if he wants to add a toggle.

I think a plugin is probably the easiest route to get this going for you.
