Chat interface not displaying or functioning properly

Symptoms:

  • The chat area does not freeze, but appears corrupted or misaligned.
  • It is difficult to read or interact with messages properly.

Yes, I do. It seems that everything is automatically translated here – I don’t know if I have to answer in English :thinking::thinking:.

I don’t know if it will also be automatically translated if I write in German :thinking:. I’m confused :sweat_smile::see_no_evil_monkey:

It happens even without chat bubbles! I tested it.

However, only in Safari. It doesn’t occur in the Google browser on the iPhone.

Since I use the PWA, this is annoying.

If you change your language settings under your settings > preferences > interface, the posts will be be translated automatically to the language selected (e.g. German)

Anyway, you may want to post this issue on the dedicated topic, since the problem may be caused with this TC.

I try to do so from time to time yes, but it’s never been a Discourse-official.

I don’t see anything wrong with that screenshot to be honest. Can you explain what you mean by misalignment? And a screenshot what it looks like without chat bubbles might be helpful too, since you say it isn’t component related.

Perhaps you can see it in a direct comparison. If it shifts like this, you can no longer return to the overview of the channels. I then have to go back to the main page of the forum first.

Oh wow totally overlooked that. @sam I’m going to remove the chat-bubbles tag here as it’s not related, seems like some keyboard insert issue maybe? Or some other vertical content shift.

@Aurora Can you share what device you are using, and if you’re on the latest Discourse version? Can you also make sure to try it with the default theme, without any components enabled to see if the issue persist?

It looks the same without chat bubbles and happens to me on my iPhone in Safari.

However, I have to say - we performed a Discourse update yesterday and indeed the problem no longer occurs today! It seems to have been resolved.
