I added the swipe months ago, should be a solved problem.
Actually I answered too fast, this is about TOUCH + DESKTOP VIEW, which is still bad I agree.
My workaround for a long time has been to use the x next to the chat in the sidebar. While that was a little difficult because the button was not visible due to the lack of hover on a tablet, it worked. I was able to remove a chat from my sidebar.
But it doesn’t work anymore. I think the button is no longer there. I think it’s now impossible to close a chat using a tablet.
I don’t a have a tablet handy to test, but on mobile you can long press to open the dropdown menu and then Leave or Close a channel, can you confirm this is also not working for you, please?
Thank you!
What do I long press? Or which dropdown menu do you mean?
Edit: this
Does not work on my tablet.
But with some testing I found out that tapping the date/time works, because that clicks the invisible close button. I am not sure I would call that a solution. It felt more like a bad surprise because I didn’t want to remove the chat in this case.
But this menu with all the features it offers doesn’t seem to work on tablets. I think there are other places for all these features, but I guess there was a reason why you built this menu, so it would be nice if it was available for all users.
I’m on my iPad so I’ll just chime in here. I have the X to close a chat, which appears when I click on the cat row (not the username to open the chat). However, if I were to swipe, I get an interesting behaviour. The X appears, but so does another x under it. The second one is enclosed in a circle, and swiping on the row moves the original x all the way to the username until the username is covered, but nothing is closed.
I intend to merge this PR this week, it should address the reported tablet issue.
