Date/timezone issue: scrolling timeline shows previous month

I’ve got a topic created by a user at 12:43am on the 1st of November in my timezone, and in most places (topic list, and the topic itself) the date for the post appears as the 1st of November — however in the scrolling timeline to the right of the topic view, the scrolling cursor shows the first post as being created in October.

I am in the North America Pacific timezone (currently UTC–8), if you are in a different timezone I suspect it may not manifest the same way.
