Different staff for categories

Hello,

I’d like to know if it’s possible to create subcategories into Staff users ? In a same forum, I’d like to have different people to approve subscription. A group of staff for a specific category or a group of categories.

Is-it possible in Discourse ?

Im not sure if I understand. Do you want specific groups to be able to moderate specific categories?

Thank for the reply @not-ethan . In fact, I’d like some users to be able to validate registration requests from new forum users for certain categories. For example :

Staff User xx for groups 1, 2 and 4
Staff User yy for groups 3, 5 and 7

When registering, I’ve created a special field for my new user to indicate which category or categories he’d like to join.

Discourse allows the creation of user groups and assigning moderators to specific categories, but I guess direct registration approval based on chosen categories is not supported.

However, a potential manual workaround :grin::

  1. When a user registers and indicates their category of interest, an admin or general moderator could approve the registration.
  2. Afterward, group-specific moderators can manage the new user’s permissions within their designated categories.
