If I install the Discourse with the help of Bitnami then it installs a bit older version and i could not find automatic update system when I tried their 1 Hour trial server. So is there a way by which Discourse could be upgraded almost like automatically?
Yes, you just need to use the OFFICIAL way to install discourse: https://github.com/discourse/discourse/blob/master/docs/INSTALL-cloud.md
Thank you so much, but sir my question is can the older version that is already installed be upgraded from admin control panel?
We don’t support Bitnami installs here. We only support official installations.
Oh ok. I am really sorry for the inconvinience.
Bitnami said they are planning to switch to the Docker container in their setup but I don’t know where they are on that.
No. Discourse has lots of pieces that make it tricky to install and maintain, so the community can support only people using Docker. If you want to upgrade, you should do the Docker install (the easiest is Digital Ocean, but there are others) to get the latest version running, then you can do a backup on your old system and restore it on the shiny new version you have running under Docker.
Who are the Discourse developers they must be very talented and experienced people. Many Big companies are using this Forum/Community Software
You can read about it here: http://blog.discourse.org/2015/12/discourse-team-grows-by-50/
Wow, this is a great team and that is clearly evident from the quality of the software created →

Is there some delay in providing something to Bitnami →
here is the bitnamis response
Thanks for using Bitnami, and sorry for the delayed response!
We don’t have an ETA for a containerized version of Discourse but it is something we’ve heard would be valuable from the community.
When it’s available we’ll update the list here: https://bitnami.com/docker
