Hi, we are piloting Suggested Edits on long, community-maintained guides and found several UX issues.
-
When a suggester opens a pending suggestion with Edit, the composer returns to the correct location, but there is no visual indication of what they changed. A suggester-facing diff or review step would make it much easier to understand and revise a pending suggestion.
-
In one test, changing a single word produced many additional diff markers that appeared to be whitespace or line-ending changes in the raw Markdown. Could insignificant whitespace be normalized before the diff is generated?
-
Add reason disappears when the composer is expanded to fullscreen. It would be helpful for the reason field to remain available in both views. A final review screen that encourages the user to add a reason before submitting would also improve the workflow.
-
The icon-only Suggest Edit action is easy to miss. Could the text label be displayed with the icon by default?
-
Is a member-facing page showing submitted suggestions and their pending, accepted, rejected, withdrawn, or stale status planned?
Happy to provide screenshots or help test improvements.
