Do Facebook users get notifcation emails? It’s hinted here they don’t, but I just wanted to make sure I got the official answer before I encourage all of the users in the Discourse I created to switch over.

Yes, users who create an account through Facebook can still get notification emails. The user’s email address is set to the email address of their Facebook account. The difference between creating an account through a social login provider, and creating an account through the Discourse signup form, is that with a social login provider an account is created without requiring the user to respond to an activation email. This is because the email address has already been verified by the social provider.
