Easier way to send a PM to a group?

Is there an easier way to send a PM to a group?

If I understand correctly, right now, I have to:

1. Go to a user profile or user card and click “Private Message”
2. Delete user from recipient list, then add group name

Perhaps a PM button could be exposed on the group page if the user visiting the page as permissions to ‘allow group to be used as an alias’?

Additionally or alternatively, could something like this be done to open the PM window and fill in the initial recipient list for a PM?
