Is there an easier way to send a PM to a group?
Perhaps a PM button could be exposed on the group page if the user visiting the page as permissions to ‘allow group to be used as an alias’?
Additionally or alternatively, could something like this be done to open the PM window and fill in the initial recipient list for a PM?

To encourage private conversations and make it easier for users to use that feature I simply added a “Private Conversation”-Button next to the “create new topic” one in the main page. I found that a very sufficient solution. You can find it as a plugin here . (Feels like we need an official plugin-discovery-repo …)

I think the current ‘official’ strategy is here:
A directory of Discourse plugins, both official and third-party.
To post here, use the Request Access button on the group page with a link to your plugin.
One topic per plugin, please.
Issues or suggestions for official Discourse plugins can be shared in the support , feature , ux , or bug categories and tagged with their appropriate tag.
Issues with third-party plugins will need to be reported in their respective plugin topic.
If you have a plugin that should be moved here plea…

Fair point. I never published the plugin there…
