Lilly:
what is broken
My guess is that users on @bob_the_tomato forum believe that System gives the badge out without much logic.

Yes, that’s the one.
Oh, never knew lol

The logic, like @ondrej said.
Okay:
Today was the new user of the month thingamabober.
In my main forum, a user with 2 posts got the badge, this is kinda broken

Did the forum had any other users eligible who should’ve been picked instead? What are the exact stats of the user who should’ve been selected compared to one who has?
We need hard data for any kind of analysis here.

He had lots of wonderful art made for everyone and was really kind, but others didn’t do that.

That user had a less than one like per post ratio, while the one who was awarded had a over 2 likes per post ratio.
The way the badge works is based on active validation of other users, e.g. likes.
Simply posting 100 times isn’t enough to earn the badge; you’d need to get a fair number of likes, more than other new users.
There is also a weighting of who liked and much more.
If the badge isn’t working well, please disable it on your site and create a custom one.
