Email-created reply including reply preamble

Reproduce:

  1. Reply using Gmail to a post notification. :bulb:
  2. Get a separate rejection error because your reply is less than the default 20 character minimum. :facepunch:
  3. Reply to your first attempt to reply (which still is addressed to Discourse) with a longer response.

Expected:

  • Only the response content appears.

Actual:

  • Your email address is exposed. :astonished:

Pastebin of original message content available to those who request.

I question whether this is the right way to approach this. Why didn’t you reply to the original email with longer text? Replying to your own email is a bit odd.

Well, it wasn’t me, it was a Real Life User.

But that said, the Gmail UI makes this the suggested workflow, because the big “Click here to Reply or Forward” box is below the most recent message in the thread, which is your own, in this scenario. The reply still goes to the other participant in the conversation, which of course is discourse+key@example.com, but it’s replying “to” your previous message (if you expand the hidden/collapsed portion of the message).

Also, the same situation may happen if someone wants to reply two-times-in-a-row to a topic by email, like I just did here (albeit through the web).
