Hi Maiki. I also have the same problem. So here’s the thing, we exported our data from prod instance to our test instance. After that in the test instance there is this “outgoing email has been disabled for non-staff users” what could’ve been the problem of exporting?
Hi Sarah, I made this a public support topic.
When a backup of Discourse is restored, email is disabled for non-staff users. This is to prevent having multiple copies of a community sending notifications.
Once a site is properly migrated, or additional steps are made for a staging site that will not notify users (some folks decide to remove most users, for instance), then site operators are able to enable email as needed.
