Help troubleshooting problem with auto-tagging automation

I just created an automation and tested it. According to the admin interface it’s run twice, but the results are not showing on the site.

Type: Auto Tag Topic
Trigger: Post created
Topic Type: All Topics
Categories defined (tests posted in defined categories)
Valid tag defined (it’s part of a tag group if that matters)
Nothing else selected.

Made 2 new topics but they don’t show the tag, and when I check the tag it says zero posts are using it.

I was being dumb. The tag I was trying to set was in a group that had been set to only be allowed to be used in X categories, and where I was using it was not part of X.
