Hide user profile and from user page & user search

Hi

Is it possible to for users to hide their Discourse profile and hide themselves from the user page & user search?

Secondly is it possible to give users read-only access?

Finally can these setting be set via the API?

As some background:
We have a closed Forum setup, authenticated via SSO to a separate systems where users already have profiles and the ability to hide their profiles from other users. I’m thinking if a user set their profile as private in the other system, we would hide their discourse profile, and hide them from the user page and search, and restrict them to read-only access.

Not currently possible, no.

This is possible now, though I am not sure it removes the user from search – check your user preferences to hide your presence and user page.

No elimina el nombre de usuario (ni el nombre completo) del usuario de la autocompletación de nombre de usuario en la búsqueda avanzada, lo cual considero un problema de seguridad.

Por favor, házmelo saber qué opinas.

Hola Pete,

Podrías configurar algunos usuarios con acceso de solo lectura.

Puedes lograr esto de una de las dos formas que conozco:

Nivel de confianza o utilizando grupos.

En Configuración de categoría > Seguridad, establece el Nivel de confianza 0 o el grupo que deseas que tenga acceso (solo lectura).

Por ejemplo:
Nivel de confianza 0. Ver
readonlyGro. Ver
Readnwrite Grp. Ver/Responder/Crear
