We have at least two parties that wish to sponsor categories on our forums. Wonder if anyone has done similar, and what did you offer.

For us I’m thinking:

  • Facebook post\social posts
  • Global Announcement\banner topic for a period of time
  • Rename category as “Category … w/” or "Category Presented by sponsor)
  • Pinned post In the Category

Wondering what the people smarter than me are doing :smiley:

Curious what you ended up doing. We have a similar issue right now, but I don’t think creating extra categories for the sake of sponsors is the right way to go. What they really want are chat rooms, more or less.

I just renamed categories, added info to about this category.

New categories were not on the table unless there was a compelling long term community benefit to them.

Sounds right. Creating new categories for sponsors sounds like a slippery slope. I’m looking for creative solutions for sponsors, but they need to be additive to the community. Thanks for the response.
