in my mac i use MAMP is a free, local server environment that can be installed under macOS

How to install discussions use MAMP ?

Discourse requires an entirely different set of tools than mamp.

You can search for *development howto mac". Note that the docker development environment is easier to install.

I first used Beginners Guide to Install Discourse on macOS for Development 3 years ago, and still use it, so that’s a pretty good start on Mac as well.
