How to show total of topics per category

I’m using following config:

• desktop category page style - categories_and_top_topics

Today I have created a few of topics inside some categories, but topic counter doesn’t update itself :

• Total in first category is 3, but visible as 2 in this month
• Total in second one is 6, but visible as 6 in this month
  

I imagine to show total of topics per category - is it possible to achieve it?

The short answer is that you - as an admin - have a different category list. As an admin, you have access to private categories. I say admin here to keep it simple, but this also applies to regular users that have access to private categories. So, the total number of categories on your list is higher. Try viewing your site in a private tab, to see what it shows logged out visitors; are the numbers more accurate there?
