Since that topic has drifted into the speculative, let’s move it here. The idea being discussed — how to make sure people notice key things they might for whatever reason otherwise miss?
One idea, taken from something I saw on Matrix (but probably also is done on lots of Discords): use the react plugin with 
or 
(or similar), and then, every week have a bot (using the API or a theoretical plugin) check for the top 5 new posts with the most of that specific reaction. Take those posts and assemble a new topic in a “News” or “Hot Posts” category with an excerpt from each one and a link to that conversation.
