I was wondering how I can immediately close a topic.
You mean automatically after posting? I was able to achieve it for a category by setting Edit/Settings/Auto-close topic hours: to 0.001. I don’t know if this is totally recommended, I remember there was an odd, minor knock-on effect somewhere (I forget exactly where). But it works for my purposes.
Why do you need to do this? What is the goal?
For me, we use the category as a quick and easy venue for community classified ads, and responses aren’t desirable.
I mean it takes longer to do that @tempogain. Why not just press the admin wrench and then the close topic?
I think you must not be understanding me. Once I make that setting in (Category)/Edit, it always happens automatically when a thread is started.
Set the permissions on the category so everyone can See, but only you can Create a topic.
I need this because I want people to be able to publish community resources (Roblox) and then no-one can reply to the topic.
