We have built a similar importer (that also fetches images, etc.) for Tumblr as well. We are running into an issue that hopefully someone would be able to guide us with:
Running the import script on local imports the user’s blog. However, how should we go about it if we want to fetch individual blogs each time a user requests it on the production site?

Could you share your import script?
How would you go about prompting a user for a Tumblr blog to import? A manual request via a site message, or a plugin that allows ursers to enter a Tumblr URLs?
