The latest commit to the WP-Discourse plugin is causing all the custom posts (made through EventON Plugin) to be attributed to system user despite the user existing on both discourse and WordPress. If we roll back to 2.3.7, it works as expected but updating to 2.3.8 causes this bug to happen. We receive this error via emails: Reason for failure: A 400 response code was returned from Discourse. param is missing or the value is empty: post Did you mean? post post[raw] controller title I thought it might be helpful in identifying the probable cause.

When this PR is merged (and the version pushed to Wordpress.org), the functionality will work as you expect it to. https://github.com/discourse/wp-discourse/pull/437

Both if possible. Please turn on Verbose Publication Logs.

Can you just confirm a few things for me Your custom post types (i.e. the events) are being published to Discourse successfully You haven’t see the 400 error before What type of users (whose discourse usernames you’re expecting to be used) are publishing posts (i.e. are they admins or not) What type of API key are you’re using to connect Wordpress to Discourse

[imagen] angus: Your custom post types (i.e. the events) are being published to Discourse successfully Yes, the posts are being published successfully but incorrect user (system) is being attributed with v2.3.8 [imagen] angus: You haven’t see the 400 error before No, We haven’t see any 400 errors on any prior versions of wp-discourse plugin. [imagen] angus: What type of users (whose discourse usernames you’re expecting to be used) are publishing posts (i.e. are they admins or not) These users are non-admin registered users on wordpress and so far it has worked for us. any users were correctly linked on discourse. [imagen] angus: What type of API key are you’re using to connect Wordpress to Discourse It is a Global API key [image]

I’m experiencing the same error, and can confirm that it started after upgrading WP Discourse to the version 2.3.8. With this version, topics are created, but with the default user. To confirm, i rolled back WP Discourse to 2.3.7, and it’s working again.

Thanks, it will be addressed when the PR is merged. Could you just confirm these two questions as well What type of users (whose discourse usernames you’re expecting to be used) are publishing posts (i.e. are they admins or not) What type of API key are you’re using to connect Wordpress to Discourse

Same problem here. Not a custom post type. not an admin user, but a moderator An “all users” api key.

Users are moderators and some admins API “All Users”

Hey guys, version 2.3.9 is now live with a fix for this issue. Please update and let me know how you go.

We are seeing the same issue with 2.3.9, and are rolling back to 2.3.7, and disabling auto-update of this plugin going forward.
