That’s the function of bookmarks. I think that is exactly what bookmarks are for.

I’d recommend bookmarks as well. We have some changes in the pipe for those too. Stay tuned.

I’ve written an update to the original topic, trying to come up with a better explanation what workflow we’d like to have.

You can do anything in a plugin. Consider posting in #marketplace to recruit a developer to build it for you.

Oh, that’s a good option, thank you.
Here’s the post on marketplace:
What would you like done?
I’d like to be able to like my own posts.
Motivation:
And it is ok to opensource it, all github stars are yours.
When do you need it done?
It’s not urgent, a month is ok.
What is your budget, in $ USD that you can offer for this task?
I honestly have no idea how hard it would be to write this plugin and how much it could cost, I’m new here. How many hours would it take to make it?

I’m not sure I understand. How would that work?

The bot might be able to be set for example if you add to your post @botname it likes the poster’s post.

There is also the Retort plugin to add reactions
Retort is a plugin which allows you to add slack-style reactions to posts
[7vHi2j74Rg]
Install it using the standard plugin installation instructions .
It’s stable, supported, and works with the latest Discourse. Check out the code , or view it live on the demo site (note that you’ll need to make an account to use the plugin)
If you have a bug or feature request, please post it here (and tag me, @gdpelican ), and I’ll respond as quickly as I can.
Cool features
Category-specific retortions …

Maybe just create a tag called “needs help”? I don’t see how a like solves anything.

I think liking is much easier. Adding a tag is too much effort, it will stop people from engaging. It’s a math class, it’s hard enough.

Your very welcome. The Devs have done an excellent job making Discourse very customizable. Still learning a lot myself.
Have to do some research but the Data Explorer plugin maybe able to add some tools for the teacher and student as well.
If you look into adding custom emojis you can also use more math related emoji pics.

Yeah, discourse is awesome. I actually should go solve some problems, but I’m exploring what else I can do with it, haha.

negaduck:
When I post a problem, I, as a student, sometimes can see the ways I can make steps to solve a problem, and I just add it to discourse, but sometimes I can’t, and liking my own topic would increase this single metric, and the teacher would see this, and give us hints.
Sounds like what you need is the topic voting plugin: Discourse Voting .
Due to the way liking is structured, building a plugin that lets you like your own posts is a little tricky. I would not advise it as your first Discourse plugin.
