Look for 3 community admins for a mastermind to audit each other's communities

I’d like to create a small mastermind group of four people where we can take turns examining each other’s communities. Are you…

  • an admin on a Discourse instance
  • willing to meet about every other week on zoom
  • willing to put several hours of time between each meeting exploring another Discourse community as a new community members

I’d love to hear from you.

I’m imagining we’d focus on one community at a time. Initially, “here’s the community” and no other setup/context. Before the next meeting, we’d each provide some feedback and then we can do any interactive discussion at the meeting. Repeat. After we’ve done all four communities, it would be nice to have each admin present a question to the group, and then everyone goes off to consider that in the community’s context.

We can have flexible meeting times so we can maneuver around everyone’s schedules.

This sounds amazing!

Community manager can be a lonesome profession, we’re often solo-practitioners and many of our direct colleagues don’t understand our craft. Having peer support has been vital for my career and I’m very happy to see you suggest this initiative!

While I no longer manage a Discourse community, I would love to help out and/or observe a few of your meetings if that’s alright with you?
My background is that I’ve been in “community” for 15 years or so, ran a Discourse forum for 5 of those. Currently I’m a CSM for the Discourse Enterprise customers and I run the Discourse Gold program.
