We just shipped a refresh to the topics filtering UI.
The /filter
link is now, by default, under the More… section in the sidebar.
We added support for keyword based search, you can type anything into the box
To improve discovery we added an autocomplete system to the box, it lets you easily navigate the filtering options

Note, I am not sure how to default YouTube to 1080p, but if you manually select video is way less fuzzy (but still a bit fuzzy)
Still learning how to video will do better next time.

Much cooler than before! One UX thing – the dropdown only shows a few items but I can never see the whole offering. I have to try entering random letters to see what are all the options (at least on Mac).
