Can you share a little more than the title of this topic and a screenshot of the personal message telling the user their post was hidden? You didn’t share any information about them or how the post menu below the flagged post looks for them. Is the user allowed to edit other posts written by them? How are the settings related to post editing configured?
When a post is flagged and get hidden, the user receives the usual notification that their post was hidden due to community flags. The message also states that they will be able to edit their post after 10 minutes to make corrections.
However, even after the 10-minute period passes, the user still does not see the option to edit the post. The Edit button doesn’t appear, and they are unable to make any changes.
Also, when a post goes into the review queue and an admin or moderator clicks “Revise Post,” the user does receive the default system notification that they can edit or resubmit their post.
However, they have no option to edit or resubmit.
You mean the edit button below the post that was flagged, is that correct? So far you only shared a screenshot of the personal message which told the user that they can edit the post. You didn’t share the post menu of the flagged post. You also didn’t anwser whether you have changed any settings related to edit permissions.
I tired to reproduce what happened:
- I created a post with my test user
- My admin user flagged it using the hide post option
- The test user received a PM just like the one you shared in the first post
- After waiting for 10 minutes the test user clicked the link to the flagged post.
I see the option to edit there in the post menu.
That’s why I think you may have changed a setting related to post editing.
Let’s keep this topic focused on the message sent when a post was hidden instead of mixing it with the revise post message. That was, for example, also discussed in Allow the ability to Edit post on rejection
I don‘t know which settings I changed that caused this.
