Importing a phpBB Board into a Discourse Forum
D.VE is seeking to import a medium-sized phpBB 3.0 forum (5,000 users, 500,000 posts) into a Discourse forum. The task has no urgent deadline, and the budget is to be determined.
Codinghorror suggested crowdsourcing from forum members to increase the budget. D.VE inquired about the existing import tool, and codinghorror explained that it requires a Discourse development environment and experienced software development skills.
Pfaffman provided a link explaining how migrations work and offered to provide a quote. D.VE considered crowdsourcing but needs a fixed amount for the project.

I thought there is some kind of import tool.
You’d need to set up a Discourse development environment, and be a fairly experienced software developer. It’d be about a day of work for a typical software developer.
