Private signup link on a closed community?

This has been discussed before and unfortunately, this feature does not currently exist. See this topic for what is nevertheless possible:

Invite tokens without email?

Is there any way of creating “anonymous” invite tokens? I would like to be able to hand out invite links that grants access to specific groups to people whose email I don’t have. (Obviously, I’m talking about people who are not already users on the forum.) The point is to make sure that these new users have access to those groups right away, without having to apply for access.
