I marked a topic as un-public using admin role, but it can be viewed directly by other users using uri. How can I fix it?

eg, topic detail uri: domainname/t/topic/79/3.

That is the expected behavior. An unlisted topic (just like an unlisted youtube video) still remains available through it’s link. it is not visible to anyone through the topic lists though.

If you want to completely hide that topic. There are two ways:

  1. Delete it.
  2. Convert it to a personal message.

If you want to hide from a group of users, move the topic to a category with restricted permissions

That makes a topic unlisted, not unpublic. Move the whole topic to PM. And when you are ready, what ever you do, put it back.

Or, you could move it to a private category like #staff where normal user’s can’t see it.
