Questions about the Zoom Livestream integration

Hi
I’m testing the Livestreaming Zoom webinars, and I have a few questions:

Does this work only for a Zoom webinar or is it possible to work for a Zoom meeting? We are only using Zoom meeting so I’m wondering if I can make it work?

Is it enough if the App is “Ready for local test” or does it need to be published? Additionally, there are other parts that are not mentioned - most importantly: Admin vs User managed, Surface, Scope & Permissions…etc (are they omitted because they don’t make a difference - though scope and redirect url is required).

Is it possible to hide the Zoom link and keep a join button…?

Since this zoom meeting no longer requires a pass code nor registration, would it be possible to hide the zoom link? (we don’t want the link to be misused).

Currently, in my testing it’s instead showing a onebox for the link instead of a Join button:

Is it possible to restrict who clicks the ‘join meeting’?

  • Is this “join meeting” accessible by anonymous users (non-logged in users)? If yes, can we restrict it to logged in members only?
  • Can we restrict the ‘join meeting’ button to specific groups only?

Thank you!

I’m asking the engineer who built the integration to weigh in on these questions:

So stay tuned for more information about that soon!

For now the Zoom button remains visible as a safeguard in case something doesn’t work right with the embed. However, we’ve discussed hiding this for the reason you describe, so we’ll keep talking about this internally to decide the best way to handle it. If you’d like, please open a Contribute > Feature request for this so we can see who else is interested in this behavior.

The Join Zoom button is visible to anonymous users, but when they click it, they will be prompted to register for an account.

No, unless you restrict the topic to a category that is only accessible to those groups. Any members who can access the topic can join the event. Again, though, if this is something you’d like us to consider changing, please open a Contribute > Feature topic!
