Rebuild app failing

Hi,

I installed Discourse in a Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS VM on our Hyper-V server.

The initial setup works and I get to the point where it is supposed to send the activation email and that failed.
I edited the SMTP settings in app.yml and did a ./launcher rebuild app. This fails with the following error message

/usr/bin/docker: Error response from daemon: error while creating mount source path '/var/discourse/shared/standalone': mkdir /var/discourse: read-only file system.

There does not appear to be a /var/discourse/shared/standalone directory at this point.

Any suggestions?

Is this a standard install of Ubuntu on EXT4? Is there any other software on the VM?

Did you follow the standard install guide?

I rebuilt the VM with Ubuntu 16.04.5 LTS and now it is working.
