Replace Google OpenID 2.0 with OpenID Connect

It looks like OpenID 2.0 will be replaced by OpenID Connect on April 20 for Google authentication.

So Discourse offers to authenticate by Google OAuth2.

Though OpenID Connect could be a plugin? It seems to build on top of OAuth2.

You classified this as “bug”? Seriously? Everyone who logs in is notified about this by Google, and there’s been a warning on our Discourse dashboard about it for months.

I don’t know how many months it’s been, but it has been in Admin->Settings->Login for as long as I can remember.

Take some time looking around as Admin, even if you aren’t Admin on your forum it should prove to be worth the time getting more familiar with things

Yep, I translated these sentences to Chinese. I know that

Just trying to figure out what does the OpenID Connect means.

It means Oauth2

Yeah we amped up the warning level here a lot in 1.2 point release and 1.3, and we reached out to all our older customers using the old Google auth.
