Is this an “evaluate 0 as false” thing?
ie. Ruby “truthiness” vs. Ember “truthiness”
No, it’s a math thing: 0 minus 1 is -1.
The database record was probably set wrong from some old code that isn’t there anymore, because the topic is so old.
