I’d like to suggest a feature for the Discourse AI bot—support for threaded or branched conversations, similar to chat threads in Discourse Chat.
When interacting with the AI bot, it’s common for the bot to generate responses that inspire new sub-topics or unexpected follow-up questions. Currently, if I want to pursue a new topic or ask clarifying questions that deviate from the main conversation, I have to continue within the same linear thread or start a new topic, which loses the context of the previous discussion. This makes it difficult to keep conversations organized and to follow multiple lines of questioning.
Feature Suggestion:
- Allow users to branch off from any AI bot reply, creating a new sub-thread or chat thread specific to that line of questioning.
- Each sub-thread should inherit the relevant context/history for better continuity in the conversation.
- This would make AI-assisted discussions much more organized, especially for deep-dive explorations and follow-ups on multiple topics.
