It would be nice when when hovering over the post indicator (xx of zz) the scrolling would not be line wise, but post wise, i.e. skipping one post per “scroll”.
I am not follow… an illustrated example with screenshot please?
Well, with the post indicator I mean the green rectangle in the lower right (the topic progress bar).
And with post-wise scrolling I mean, I mean post-wise scrolling. E.g. in a good pdf reader you can scroll page-wise, so you don’t have to scroll through each line of every page, but page-wise.
I hope that this makes it more clear…
The feature would be helpful for big threads, like:
Try the keyboard shortcuts to move post-by-post. Press ? to see them listed.
Aha, nice… and to have this available at the mouse-wheel would be great!
Two things I noted with post-wise scroll:
- In my keyboard layout ‘j’ is left of ‘k’, so it is quite awkward that ‘j’ is scrolling down and ‘k’ up. In an LTR environment you would expect the right button to scroll down.
- I think the higlighted post is too much in the middle of the screen (vertical). It’s nice that you can see something of the former post. But currently it is IMHO too much. At first I thought the scrolling was screwed and it was truncating the posts.
Here’s the reason behind these shortcuts
??? Because you have arrows painted on your keyboard?
I have never seen this before, is this a new standard or what?
It’s an old standard.
