Set excerpts of the latest post instead of the first one

I have two questions, please! Does this component allow the excerpt to be of the last/newest post in a topic? If it doesn’t, does this feature exist anywhere?

I’m afraid not - it can only pull the thumbnails from the first post of a topic.
