You should not rely on common defaults and both fg and bg colors should be explicitly defined together, but if you want to reproduce this, it is firefox with browser.display.use_system_colors = true
and env GTK_THEME=Adwaita:dark
I don’t think it’s a bug in discourse if You’re making weird choices of Browser/OS.
There is no promise tha default background will while and default foreground will black. It’s a bug.
Even on dark mode enabled in Android, I can’t reproduce this issue. If Your browser does wonky things with your OS. I’d say you should also go complaining to Facebook among others complaining about this.
You’ve clearly overridden a browser default to achieve this though, right?
On Firefox browser.display.use_system_colors
is usually false
:
To be honest, I’m not sure I care about these color issues. It feels like you’re just opting into pain, and then complaining to us that it hurts.
Is any distribution shipping this configuration by default? If not, I don’t think we should put any effort into fixing these issues.
I think that’s the crux which many folks disagree with. Perhaps one should rely on common defaults.
