I often find myself watching frequently updated, wiki, or policy topics in order to get notifications when someone edits the top post. That workflow turns into:
- See the notification.
- Click to the topic.
- Click the last edited icon for diff.
- Scroll around until I hopefully spot the change.
This gets laborious with long top posts. I often have to scroll quite a ways to find the edits. I often overlook multiple edits to a post, especially when they appear far apart.
It would be nice to see diffs displayed in my notifications list, perhaps behind an expandable <details>. Or perhaps edits to wiki posts could be shown as replies to the topic, showing the edit, after a period of time.
