I found a lot of threads about migrating Mybb forums to Discourse but none about a solution to integrate an existing Mybb forum in a Discourse mobile app, like Tapatalk does.
A solution like this would avoid the complicated and costly migration between these two very different platforms, and would offer the Discourse benefits for a lot of Mybb users who don’t have forum admins good at IT engineering.
So, can we replicate a kind of plugin like Tapatalk, but for Discourse? Who would have to work on this, some Mybb developers or Discourse developers? For sure, the guys from Mybb support wouldn’t be happy to help with this kind of running from their platform.
That’s a bit of a weird request, given that there is no such thing as an “Discourse mobile app”, as in the end it loads the actual Discourse web interface.
Sounds like what you really want is your forum to migrate to Discourse and provide the Discourse experience to everyone.
Nowadays a migration like that shouldn’t be too expensive to hire someone for if it is a small community. Did they try to hire someone for it on Marketplace ? Maybe the community can chip in and hire someone for a one time seamless migration ?
