Space before punctuation automatically removed in topic titles

Hi.
After posting this topic with a space before the question mark, I noticed that the space was removed from the title. I edited the title, added a space, and validated the modification. The space was indeed removed.

In French, we place a space before question and exclamation marks. Therefore, in my opinion, Discourse should not remove this space in this case.

So turn that option off in site settings. I believe it is called title prettify?

Hi, thanks for the info.
The option is called “title remove extraneous space” (under “title prettify”) and I don’t remember seeing it before tough, is it a recent one?
